Emmie Posted November 30, 2025 Report Posted November 30, 2025 hello! I have a noritsu ls600 and am trying to set it up. Upon trying to calibrate, i’m receiving an input balance error. Input check shows the 135 Lane Sensor as “Dark”. Additionally, the scanner sensitivity check is flat at 0. Has anyone encountered such issues or has knowledge on a solution?
Dave S Posted November 30, 2025 Report Posted November 30, 2025 Has the scanner recently been transported? If so, check the lens for excessive front to back movement. Is there anything blocking the scanning slot/ light source? Try increasing the LED values (mA) on the sensitivity check screen, after increasing them press SET. Look to see if the graph changes. This will not solve the problem, but it will be good for diagnosing the problem further.
Emmie Posted November 30, 2025 Author Report Posted November 30, 2025 thank you Dave! I will try that. Is it possible that this is a software issue. I’m currently running on windows 11.

Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 thanks Dave! I followed your advice to increase the led values and the graph did indeed change. (photos attached) what does this mean?
Minilab service Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 That means not enough light from light source to CCD. Open scanner front cover and on sensor put magnet. Look if you see light from light source. Make sure, that nothing blocking the scanning slot. Also can be that slide bosses are broken. Then lens has no fixed position and you can move it by hand. Check it also.

Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 @Minilab service @Dave S am i supposed to see a light?
Minilab service Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 Look into the gap on film carrier where should be film. Do you see LED light there? Go to sensitiviuty check menu. There instead of ALL ON LED can select R, G, B , or IR. Then can see lights separatelly.

(photos attached) what does this mean? I notice you didn't increase the IR current to 255, do this and see if the IR graph appears higher than the RGB graph. It's looking like something is blocking the light path, or the Lens alignment is bad. Check the lens for physical movement by hand.
Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 when you say check/move the lens, do I need to open the very top cover (not the front cover) to see the lens?

Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 thank you for circling that. does moving it require removing any screws?
Dave S Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) 6 minutes ago, Emmie said: thank you for circling that. does moving it require removing any screws? Just push/ pull on it with your hand to see if it rocks backwards and forwards, there should be very little to no movement. Edited December 1, 2025 by Dave S
Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) yes, there is very little movement. it does rock back and forth ever so slightly. Edited December 1, 2025 by Emmie
Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 https://photos.app.goo.gl/FFHqVrzTGLvuoBBH6 this is a video of the LED lights.
Emmie Posted December 1, 2025 Author Report Posted December 1, 2025 this is the sensitivity graph with IR set to 255.
Dave S Posted December 2, 2025 Report Posted December 2, 2025 Go Back to the sensitivity check screen, and change the lane to 240, set all the mA values to 255, is the graph any different? Try moving/ rocking the lens while looking at the sensitivity check graph screen, try on both 135 and 240 lanes, does anything change while doing that?
