Good afternoon everyone. I have error 6416-0005 on my Noritsu 3101 scanner. When I try to calibrate it, it complains about 240 dx sensor 1. When I exit calibration mode, the scanner complains about garbage—sometimes in line 135, sometimes in line 240. I have a lot of spare parts for this scanner. What can I replace to fix this? And my second question: is it possible to disable the scanner in the settings? Thank you all in advance.

Check the easy things like the glass windows of the sensors are clean, and the holes underneath the glass are not blocked.

The usual cause is worn out sensor LED's, try replacing the 240 DX sensor LED and go from there.

It is not possible to disable the scanner on a 3101 in the settings.

Replace the LED itself, but not the light sensor. Did I understand correctly?

Yes, just the LED itself, it is rare for the sensor itself to cause problems, though if the rollers have gone bad on the 240 side sometimes the rubber coming off the rollers can push the DX sensor out of alignment.

I replaced the j490252 with two LEDs. Nothing changed. Maybe I made a mistake and the 240 dx is in the wrong place? Does anyone know the exact location of this 240 dx1?

6416-0005 means 240 DX sensor error - when adjusting the sensor LED light intensity, the value does not reach until none negative level although the light intensity value has been maximum.

On J490252 are 135 lane leds ( 2pcs , DX1,2 and DX3,4 ) . There should be 5V , but need to measure between ground and pin 1 ( or pin 3 ) . If to measure between led pins then here will be 2 - 3 V ( depends on adjustments ) .

240 lane led is on J490254 . There only one led. On pin1 should be 5V ( if measure with ground ) . Voltage on pin 2 depends on adjustments.

Enter into service mode and adjust 240 lane DX led manually. The biggest value is 255 . Go to input check., Look 240 DX sensor status. When film is not inserted it should be light. If still dark - look if you see light from 240 LED, mesure this led voltages ( 5V with ground and voltage between led pins ) ,

Yes as Minilab service has said J490252 is for the 135 DX sensors. The 240 DX sensor is on the far left at the bottom of the 240 Lane, the LED is under the black cover (this is on the 135/240AFC)

I checked the voltage on the LED on the j490254; it's 5 volts. When turned on, it glows brightly. Red. I tried setting the value to 255, but nothing changed. Then I replaced the j490254 with another j490254 and did the same thing. The voltage is 5 volts. With a value of 255, I also get error 6416-0005. The only thing is, I haven't been able to access the light receiver yet. This is not very convenient from a design standpoint. Could the problem be in one of the cables?

Go into input check, and look at the 240 DX 1 and 2 statuses. Are they both showing dark?

Try shining a torch on the DX sensors, do they change to light or not?

If they don't change to light with the torch it's either the sensor is out of alignment or some cable or electronic problem.

You didn't need to change J490254 . Why to change if there everything gfood.

On one led contact always 5V . It is connected to power supply. This voltage see if to measure between ground and led contact where is power supply.

When 240 DX led value is 255 then here is maximal value. On led between pins should be about 3 V . Then LED is very bright.

Go to input and look 240 DX1 and 240 DX2 status. They both should be LIGHT ( when flm not inserted ) . If you see DARK then problem with receiver circuit ( boards, sensor, cables, connectors ) .

I checked in the input check. 240 dx sensor 1 is dark, 240 dx sensor 1 (film detection) is dark, 240 dx sensor 2 is also dark. Which wire should I check?

I forgot to mention one detail. Maybe this will help find the cause. When I try to adjust the sensor LED light intensity value, at the end of the procedure, it displays "terminated abnormally"

You see "terminated abnormally" , because when LED value is 255 ( maximal ) 240 DX sensor is dark.

Need check all circuit - 240 DX sensor receiver, boards, cables, connections and repair film carrier. If want I can do it.
