I’m at a loss here. I’ve been trying to get a recently acquired SP3000 to work for weeks now. I keep getting the “Connection to Image Controller Failed”.

It has MS11 on the Toshiba. It’s connected to a newer windows 7 dell with MS01 4.2 “Photo Gifts Now” on it. I have them connected via Ethernet directly and gave each computer a static IP in the same network and put them in the same workgroup and they can ping each other. When I first got it, they were both a part of a domain called PhotoGiftsNow.net which I took off. There was also a preferred and alternate DNS set which I removed but saved the info.

Feel like I’ve tried everything at this point and can’t seem to find anything else. Any help or insight would be amazing.

MS11 is scanner system software. On scanner computer also should be installed MS01 for Windows 2000 . When you start scanner when server is not powered you should see small pop up box with server name.

On server MS01 is enough. Version 4.2 is for W7 x86 PRO SP1 . On computer should be SQL server and it should work. Computer and server name should match nane, which you see when on scanner pop up box .

Windows user group name on both computers should be the same ( usually it is WORKGROUP ) . Network mask on both computers should be the same. IP - different only last digit. Both sides you should have ping without errors. Also should see shared folders and can access them.

MS11 opens automatically when Toshiba is powered on. I do not get a pop up window with server name.

Both computers should have the same exact name? Do I have to do anything with the Digital Link Request Spooler on each device?

Thank you

On Toshiba pop up box should be when server is not powered, or LAN cable is disconnected. If server is powered and connected then this pop up box shouldn't be.

Name which see on this pop up box should match server computer name.

On server should be all elements - SQL, Digital Link Request Spooler, Panda and others. On scanner should be installed different MS01 version ( for Windows 2000 PRO ) . There usually do not see MS01 . Just can see pop up box ( when scanner doesn't see server ) , or MS01 Maintenance ( if to run it manually ) .

Does the name in Maintenance on Toshiba need to match the SQL server? I have changed these settings to try to get it to work. It is asking for FMPC, PicServer, Scanner, and SimonServer. Also under System Information it asks for Job Manager and Request Spooler

Also, I am not using a printer

Name should be entered on MS01, which is installed on scanner. MS01 Maintenace starts only when scanner see server. If server is not connected then see pop up box with server name.

When printer is not used then need disable it ( select OFF, or S-alone ).  FMPC can disable on scanner maintenance menu ( not on MS01 maintenance ) . Simon, Panda, SQL server, Digital Link Request Spooler,  JobMan and other MS01 elements are on server.

From scanner and server computers disconnect LAN cables. Test server and scanner separatelly.

Look if server status on Panda is correct - green dot and Connected to xxx ( xxx- your server name ) . Status should be correct even scanner computer is not connected. If status is incorrect - problem on server.

If when server is not connected and on scanner computer do not see pop up box ( during satartup, or when run MS01 maintenance ) then MS01 on scanner doesn't work properely, or it was installed incorrectly.

I have all software to run stand alone scanner and can help to reinstall everything.

On scanner computer run MS01 Maintenance.exe file manually. When LAN disconnected maintenance will not start. Instead of it should see pop up box with server computer name. If do not see it then MS01 is not installed, or doesn't work.

Sometimes on scanner instead of MS01 can be installed C4/C5 . Then this software left when was installed old system ( FDIA ) . Look what is scanner system software version. On main window with mouse press "i" symbol. Look if on control panel ( add - remove programs ) you have installed C4/C5.

Shows FDIA is installed

The server name does pop up when unplugged from server

Software is new. MS11 2.0-0E-030 is the latest version. It consists of S1 3.0-AE-822, S4 3.0-0X-480 and 3.0-0E-141 . You can see this list on "Optional software" .
Usually with MS11 installed MS01 .

Server name should pop up when scanner computer is unplugged from server. It should be during computer startup. Did you try on scanner computer to run MS01 maintenance manually ( run file "Maintenance.exe" ) . What happends after that?

It is normally that you see message E-P0-1775 . Menu with scanning services is on server and scanner doesn't see it.
Message E-P0-1775 can't effect scanning and file transfer. This message can be ignored. Just enough to close message and can scan films.

Then connect LAN and on scanner computer run file "Maintenance.exe". Then MS01 maintenance should be opened.

If MS01 maintenance will open then return to scanner pre-operation menu. There select connect to server ( last step on scanner pre-operation menu ) . Then look what will be - connection to server error, or scanner sotware can connect to server.

You do not provide information, so can't tell anything. I do not know if you can run Maintenance, what happends when reading services fished,  do not know which error you have on server and all other details.

You wrote "show error message on server too" . E-P0-1775 is on scanner computer - not on server computer. Really no errors on server?

Do not understand what is going when server is connected and you start Maintenance.exe . Do you see MS01 maintenance menu after that?

The same E-P0-1775 error will pop up on scanner computer, then briefly on server but will then go away. So computers are talking to each other.

Yes, when computers are connected together, the maintenance menu will open. I am still getting connection to image controller failed. Server names match on all Global Settings
