Hey!
Soo i had the bright idea to buy an old film processor for fun i guess

It's a Fuji FP350AL, i don't know the age, i estimated that it surely ran 10 years ago, after that idk.
The machine is not in my possession at this time and i have yet to pay for it, that can wait until the day i head over and pick it up in maybe a month or two from now, so like March or early April.
I got a call from the seller on a quiet Saturday night that i can go and check it out, so not 30 minutes later i was standing there and eyeing out this machine
It is really dirty but hey that's almost always the case with used tools so that's no problem, what would have been a deal breaker is if not all outside panels were present, which they were all there so i'll happily take it home.

I created this thread to show you just a fun, i guess me just fixing up this film processor without the pressure of an actual lab where you don't have down time.
For the next few months i'll post Images with notes, i guess this will be a blog, anyone who is interested feel free to join this thread, chat and or ask questions.
I know this won't be some popular thread because most people come here to fix some issue and that's just about it but i believe we have some other hobbyists here

My goal is to have it running by August 1 2026 just to have some deadline for the fun of it, but if i miss that no biggie

This is the current state of it, like i said, seen some better days but it all is not that bad

That is a QSS 2601 next to it, it'm really tempted to just make an offer on that too, i just don't have the space for it now, but i'll certanly save it from the scrap pile if it were to get to that state, anyways this thread is about the Fuji

The two cables hanging on the front are manual film cut triggers, fist thing that's coming off

I got the original manual with it, i already did some work on that, ironed out the creases from the paper, wiped it down really good, took all the notes and stuff out of it and erased what i could so that it looks as factory as it can,
I also read it cover to cover so i know some stuff at least before i get the machine here.

You can contact me if you need software for FP350B and manuals.
I have a service manual, parts list, and installation manual.
I personally scanned it many, many years ago...

You can find the current price here

Ah yes the software that costs more than the machine

And what does it actually do? You know that the original software is on the machine, right? And why do i need the B software on an AL machine?

Software already have on film processor. If software works then do not need it. Look what is your software version. You should see 15.2-0E , 7.3E0 , 7.0E0  or some other. If it is old then can upgrade it, but it is not necessary.

FP350B and FP350AL are the same.  AL means that  film processor has film automatic loader.

Of course, you need to change system software only if your software is corrupted or if you want to have it updated...
And yes, sometimes software is more expensive than the equipment 🙂
I hope they gave the lab to you for free.

Original software will be just fine thanks, and nope, i paid for the machine
The fact that it uses belts not gears to transport the leader should not deem this machine unusable
Like okay it's not the best if you run a lab, but i don't, so a bit less hate please

All Fujifilm film labs use belts, not gears, to transport the leader, but they are in use around the world and work well.
Just perform a good cleaning and make a water test.

If the belts are not worn out - it will work.
