prauphet Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 I'm providing support for a V50 with an issue where the left cutter blade does not retract after cutting. The same error pops up in the log: 8-001 so we've isolated it to the left side, but wanting to rule out a sensor related cause [Cutter home vs cutter position] vs the actual motor. I'm going to retract the motor using the OUTPUT CHECK option in the menu to see if the motor in fact returns to home, which if I'm not mistaken suggests a sensor error - but this may be shortsighted. We have a replacement motor but haven't been successful in sourcing replacement sensors. Does anyone have a good source for parts? When it comes time to get into the Loading Bay it seems to me we would should be ready with parts for any replacements. I also haven't been inside the Loading Box yet but it's likely needing cleaning and PCB checkup.
yustas Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 A few times, I had the blades rusted and therefore they were left in the down position. Did you check the surface of the blade?
prauphet Posted February 20 Author Report Posted February 20 No rust on the blades but found left motor to be leaking, replaced with Think Engineering TE-35QG1-24-150W micro geared motor believed to be new from our parts supply. V50 behaved normally for approximately 10 test runs, next morning hard error [cutter 040] and stuck at error screen. Next steps: In the process of 1- check fuse, check cables, and check sensors. PCBs noted as "dirty", recommendation to replace Photo Micro Sensor Part # I053129-01 and in the process of sourcing that. Haven't been able to find a parts list/manual for the V50. We have the service Manual but no parts list.
Minilab service Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 I053129-01 is Omron EE-SX4009-P1 . Can find it on local and online shops. Before buying check your sensor. Go to input check and look sensor status when it is opened and closed. Make sure, that you have 5V power supply on it. prauphet 1

Most problems with these are poor connections on the wires going to the sensor, or corroded PCB tracks on the loading unit circuit board. prauphet 1

Try bending the contacts in the cable connector for a more secure connection
prauphet Posted March 5 Author Report Posted March 5 Quick update...and thanks everyone for your thoughts and recommendations. Indeed found loose contacts in cables, excessive grunge build-up on PCBs and sensors...performed another random cleaning and wire checks and power cycle. Error code cleared, been running without issues for several days. We also sourced a parts list and now have full operational manuals and a service manual going forward. Community is awesome. Onward~
