fujieger Posted February 18 Report Posted February 18 Hi there! My problem is that my printer (Fujifilm Frontier 340) keeps freezing. By that I mean I can get to about the paper test stage, the densitometer measures it, and then it freezes. For example, if I skip the first daily test, then in the service menu, when I try to set the laser temperature, it also freezes. The mouse doesn’t move, the keyboard doesn’t respond, and I can’t shut down the printer using the main power switch. Up until last night, the machine was working perfectly fine and there were no problems at all. Thank you for your help!
Calebsavage Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 I would suggest replacing the computer HDD if possible. The easiest route to do this is to remove the HDD, put it in a USB-IDE enclosure, and use a cloning software (I like Macroum Reflect) to duplicate it. You can use a SSD for the new drive with an IDE-SATA adapter. It's very common for hard drives to fail on older machines. Even if you can't clone the hard drive right away, try to make a backup of the scanner and printer data to a floppy disk-- if your floppy drive isn't working, you can obtain a floppy emulator that allows the use of a USB stick. If your hard drive fails and you lose the calibration data, you will have a big problem.
fujieger Posted February 20 Author Report Posted February 20 Thank you! I have a donor machine, and I tried with another computer, i put the HDD in it, but it didn't worked. I have backup floppys from the scanner and printer. I don't know how to reinstall the PC or what kind of software should i use.
TECNOR Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 You need install all software of printer for solved your problem. Recovery cd, system software is necessary for this.
Minilab service Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Fujifilm 340 computers are FC5010/FC5011 ( Ricoh FB5 motherboard ) , or FC7010/7011 ( Ricoh FB6 motherboard ) . Check your computer models. To reinstall computer need recovery CD ( for your computer model ) , A1 for Frontier 340 and connection software ( C4/C5 or MS01 scanner ) . Also can install optional modules ( to print templates, correction modules, etc ) . On computer can use SATA SSD. Need connect it through IDE to SATA adapter ( on motherboard IDE and disk SATA ) .

Tengo una máquina donante y lo intenté con otra computadora; Le puse el disco duro, pero no funcionó. Tengo copias de seguridad de los discos del escáner y la impresora. No sé cómo reinstalar la PC ni qué tipo de software debo usar. YOU MANAGED TO SOLVE IT Edited February 20 by MILTON LOVERA
