AName Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 Hi guys. Does anyone know what different between? I know the 2001E came with R2 Super1000, so it will be faster than 2000E which came with super 700? and compare to the Konica Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II, which also got 5400 dpi input, are they provide same image quality but R2`s Scaning speed got faster? Thank you.
Minilab service Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 R2-1000 printer is faster than R2-700, but scanning speed on DS-2000E and DS-2001E is the same. Almost all parts on both scanners are the same. DS-2001E is slightly modified DS2000E. On both scanners used the same software and firmware versions. If to scan 135F maximal resolution is 4988 x 7428 . Original computer is slow. DS-2001E computer is a little faster. The best is to connect scanner to new computer with Windows 10 . 5400 DPI ( dots per inch ) for 135F frame would be about 5100 x 7670 ( 24 x 36 mm is about 0.945 x 1.42 inch ) . So resolution is similar. 5400 II can scan only 135 films. When have universal film carrier and masks then on DS-2000E and DS-2001E can scan any film and mounted slides.

Do you have the data shows the scan time with maximal resolution for 1 roll 36 frames 135 film by WIN10 PC? and Where could I find a sample scan file in tiff with maximal resolution? Thank you
Minilab service Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 Scanning at high resolution speed is slower. Film scanning time is about 15 min. Image processing time depends on computer. On oldest computers ( running on Windows 2000 ) it can be more than 30 min. On upgraded computer image processing takes about 2 min . So image processing difference is very big. Image can be stored in .tiff, .jpg and .bmp . When 135F scanned in MAXIMUM then file has 4988 x 7428 resolution . For regular customers is enough to scan 16 BASE . Then resolution is lower ( 2048 x 3072 ) , but scanning is much faster. 135F scanned on automatic film carrier. When you have universal film carrier and masks then can scan any film and mounted slides ( 120, 110, 240, 135 ) . I do not have scanner. I just repair canners, help to install scanners on new computers and make software settings. All Konica scanners have automatic film carrier for 135 films. Also can be universal film carrier to scan films manually - frame by frame. With universal film carrier can use masks for 120, 110, 240, 135 films and mounted slides. Also can be automatic film carrier to scan 240 ( APS ) films, but nobody use it. How looks DS2001E can see here : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385026494826 https://www.fotronix.uk/product/konica-r2-film-scanner-35mm-and-120-capable/ More images and videos can find on Google. Use Konica scanner picture and Google Lens. Scanner can get from someone, who had Konica minilabs ( R1-1000, R1-1400, R2-700, R2-1000, R3-1000 ) . Many minilabs stoped to work, but scanners still work. I think you can find them locally. To scan need Konica Phenix software and USB dongle to run it. Here can see information abut R2 series minilabs and scanners : https://footprintsequipment.com/images/brochures/Konica/digital/R2_super_series.pdf R2-700 has DS-2000E scanner and R2-1000 has DS-2001E . Konica scanner parts can get only from disassembled scanners. All scanners work as good as they are adjusted. The same can be with Fujifilm, Noritsu, Konica and other brands.
AName Posted February 27 Author Report Posted February 27 Professional middlemen have already swept up all the local minilabs at scrap prices. We’re now forced to buy them back from these dealers at inflated prices. What’s worse, they clearly don’t have much understanding of Konica equipment and can hardly provide any meaningful after-sales support. Even when it comes to Noritsu machines, I doubt they truly understand them either. When I asked a former Noritsu engineer here how to use an LS-1800 with an IT8 target for color calibration, it was obvious that he had never even considered the question before. He didn’t even realize that a scanner could be calibrated using a color target. I know that there were brand-new Konica spare parts stored in the local Konica after-sales service warehouse, and they were already bought by someone at scrap prices. Is the dongle bound to a specific scanner (serial number), or can it be used interchangeably on any machine as long as it’s plugged in? May I have a quote that If I buy a DS-2000E/2001E with a old software version need upgrade or need adding some fuctions?
Minilab service Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 (edited) Additional functions can be used only on latest software and firmware. The latest version is 2.03 ( it is only for DS2000E and DS2001E ) . Options should be added into dongle. I can do it online. Can be dongle for any minilab, or for optional module. Just need enter correct licenses. For DS200E needs license for R2-700 and for DS2001E need license for R2-1000 . Here can see dongle : https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/spiceworks/original/4X/c/2/2/c22e6ab0df300dc1ec6a19832658ca12fd7f5217.jpeg Dongle for DS2001E ( on label written R2S1000 ) On attachment can see dongle content. Dongle is for Print driver, but there I added all options. R2 Super 1000 is license to work with DS2001E. All other modules are optional. Dongle is to run software ( not a scanner ) . If on dongle is main license then can connect any DS2000E, or DS2001E . Noritsu scanner model is HS-1800 ( not LS ) . HS-1800 is old Noritsu S4 scanner, where changed one board. Both scanners are discontinued. New can get only light source ( price about 5000 ) . All other parts can get only from disassembled scanners. Faulty light source is typical Noritsu scanner fault. They made using bare LED crystals. Konica light sources are very reliable. There mounted standard 5 mm LEDs. When with HS-1800 used Noritsu Ez controller then can add many correctrions : general corrections, corrections for Under, Standard and Over and even corrections for exact DX code. Also on Ez controller can load profiles for monitor, loaded picture and for printer. If you purchase scanner and want upgrade computer, or add options you can write me and I can do it. If get scanner without dongle I have them. Can program dongle for any scanner. Edited February 27 by Minilab service

The Version what he sent to me shows a big "Ver 1.10R05T1E" then it come with " Software Ver 1.10R05T1 System control Ver 1.10R00T8 ....... " So it should be old software and firmware, right? How much does it cost to upgrade to last version? and He also told me the scan file color seems too "pink" or "red". He said he talk with other owner and both of them got this color problem. is it a normal problem for DS-2000? Could I fix it? He mention that this scanner`s mirror and light are brand new factory parts which he got from local Konica service guy.
Minilab service Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 You have version 1.10R05T1E . The latest for DS2000E is 2.00R03E . Yes, firmware will be older. What you have can see on upgrade menu ( on Maintenance ) . All information about versions can see here : https://www.minilabhelp.com/index.php?/forums/topic/29691-numerous-issues-with-konica-r2-ds2000e-scanner/&do=findComment&comment=83476 Konica software has color adjustments for negatives, positives and black - white. You can do it. There are many adjustments, where can do it. Before experiments make three backupos ( factory, maintenance ans setup ) . Having them you can easy return.
