Wen2015 Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 (edited) Hello everyone, I have a Noritsu qss3203 , Is it possible to convert it into a scanner similar to the 1700SA? After conversion, can my printer and scanner be used as two separate units? Edited March 2 by Wen2015
Dave S Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 (edited) If it is a non SD model printer with the CS-1 desk unit, it can be converted to a S1700SA. The printer cannot be operated without either a CS-1 or CS-2 desk unit. Once the CS-1 has been converted to a S1700SA you will not be able to run the printer. So no, you cannot separate them and have both the scanner and printer running as separate units. However, if your Scanner is an S4 model, it can be converted to a HS-1800. In that case you would keep the CS-1 desk and printer connected together, and load the Pro software on the printer to run it without the scanner connected. Edited March 2 by Dave S
yustas Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 First, you need to switch the laboratory to PRO mode. In this mode, it will operate without a scanner. To do this, you will need the so-called PRO software for the QSS32 series. After that, you will have a scanner as a separate device, but it will not yet work as a stand-alone scanner, because we need to know what model you currently have in order to understand what to advise you to do with it next.
Minilab service Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 (edited) It is possible to use stand alone scanner and stand alone printer. To run stand alone scanner need to install S1700SA system software. Booster A leave connected and disconnect booster B . On system software specification select S1700SA . Then can disconnect CS-1 with scanner and it can work separatelly. With printer is more dificult. You need to make self made CS-2 . To do it you need computer where is Windows 2000 PRO and installed system software for QSS3203 SD PRO. To new computer LPT need connect Booster B ( it is to run 3203 processor ) . On system software specification select QSS3203 SD PRO . To one COM port pin need connect 5V. Otherwise QSS software turns off computer ( when missing 5V level from UPS ) . Into computer need insert PC-laser interface PCB ( J391048 , or J391266 ) . To computer need connect colorimeter unit. Need remove it from CS-1 ( stand alone scanner doesn't need it ) . ARCNET need connect through Switch control PCB ( J391121 , or J391238 ) . If you ready to buy two boards ( PC-laser interface PCB and Switch control PCB ) , work a little then you can continue to work on stand alone printer. Edited March 2 by Minilab service
