Minilab service Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 You didn't write what is software on your server. There can be installed C4/C5 , S2, or MS01 server.

Minilab service Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 If at the top you see Print, Write and System then here is C4/C5 ( FDIA software ) . C4/C5 should be installed on server and scanner ( installed different ) . On server should run sql server. If you have LAN connection betweeen scanner and server then check if sql started and works. Try reinstall C4/C5 on minilab internal computer. During instillation enter correct server name ( it is server computer name ) . if still doesn't work you need reinstall server. First can reinstall only C4/C5 working software ( standard instillation ) . If not enough - reinstall everything ( Windows XP, network, three C4/C5 parts ) . Use advanced instillation menu. Only latest C4/C5 version can be installed on XP ( 5.5-0E-976 ) .

Minilab service Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Sorry, but do not know this software. Photo imaging controller mainly was used in USA. Traditional server software are C4/C5, S2 and MS01. I guess on PIC 2.6 is sql server also and scanner software doesn't see it. Other solution would be to install traditional server running C4/C5 , or MS01 .

My question is what would be the easiest/ best why to get these two back connected and working? A simple way to print at this point. I just need to get images into the printer.
Minilab service Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Look if you have sql on your server computer. Make sure, that it runs. Not sure how scanner connects to server. On other software it does C4/C5, or MS01 scanner. Boot minilab internal computer using Acronis boot CD and make scanner HD image to external hard disk with USB connector. When have scanner image you any time can restore it. After that can make experiments. You can try to install C4/C5 ( during it enter correct server name ) . Might be after that you have connection. If it will not help then on server can try to install photo imaging controller. As I wrote before I never used this software, so can't tell anything. Advices can get only from forum members who uses this software. Can write private messages them. Can find them on link, which I posted above. Server software, which usually used with Frontier 340 are : C4/C5 version 5.5-0E-976 . Software is for XP, but it is possible force to run it on W7 x86 ( 32 bit ) . Software can install on real computer, or on virtual computer. S2 software ( version 3.0-0E-510, 3.0-0E-520, or some other installed on XP ) . Software can install on real computer, or on virtual computer. MS01 server versions 3.1 ( XP ) , 4.2 ( W7 32 bit ) . Also is version 10.0 ( W10 64 bit ) , but Frontier 340 is not added there. it is possible to force enable this model. Might be it work there ( not sure, because didn't test with this model ) .

Minilab service Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Photo imaging controller 2.6 is some mixture between C4/C5 and MS01 . As I wrote before I do not know how this software should work. Never saw it on minilab. Open link which I posted and write private messages to forum members who use it. Your SQL server works, but minilab software doesn't see it. I see errors, that SQL password is incorrect. It shouldn't be. Password is correct ( radiogaga ) . Check password on sql settings. Try connect to sql from Windows using this password. Usually when no connection and problem is on C4/C5 server it is enough to run main software instillation ( select automatic instillation, or install only last part ) . After that minilab computer has connection again. Not sure, if it helps on PIC 2.6 . Do not know what should be installed on scanner to connect to server. Open minilab maintenance and make backups ( scanner and printer ) . Save backup files on some other computer. Start minilab computer from Acronis boot CD. Make HD image file. Save it on extrnal disk with USB connector. No problem if Windws 2000 doesn't see your USB disk. Acronis software will see it. Start server computer from Acronis boot CD. Make HD image file. Save it on extrnal disk with USB connector. When you have backups and images you can make experiments : Try on minilab computer install C4/C5 . During instillation enter correct your server name ( your server name is PIC ) . C4/C5 perfecly connects to server where installed MS01. Hope it can connect to server where is PIC 2.6 . Might be on minilab computer for connection should be installed PIC 2.6 software, but I not sure about that. You can try to do it. When have HD image file you always easy can return. If something goes wrong just need boot from Arconis boot CD and restore HD image. Try to run PIC 2.6 setup on server computer. It might to help, if problem is there.
Back 9 Posted April 30 Author Report Posted April 30 Still no connection for me....What new software is going to be the best/easiest to set up the MS01 or C4/C5? Again the printer is a 340 running 2000. The Lenovo on top running XP. I also have a old laptop running XP and one running windows 7.

Back 9 Posted September 4 Author Report Posted September 4 I tried to do a recovery , and restore the system.....when I got to the insert 2 1/2 floppy, It would not read it. I don't know if the floppy is to old (2017) I'm now missing a bunch of configurations.
Minilab service Posted September 4 Report Posted September 4 Test floppy. Copy files from floppy to HD. It should be completed without errors. If have backup files then can load them from any source ( HD, USB ) . If backup files are on floppy and they are not readable then can get files from HD ( if it was not formated, or recovered ) . Before reinstilltion need protect yourself - make backups and HD image files. Only then make reinstillation.
Back 9 Posted September 8 Author Report Posted September 8 I got the floppy reader, files are in bad shape. It will let me copy them "The file directory is corrupted and unreadable" I actually had two old sets of floppy's, both not working.
Minilab service Posted September 8 Report Posted September 8 Do not understand why you didn't make new backup and didn't test files. Can do it even software doesn't work. If you have copy of HD you can find minilab settings there. Only when have backup you can format HD, or make recovery.
Back 9 Posted September 8 Author Report Posted September 8 I been working on this for 6 months. Nothing happening so I decided to reload from scratch. Do you sell the A1 4.0 ? All I really need is the Floppy files.

Back 9 Posted September 9 Author Report Posted September 9 I did install the A1 4.0 software. It tells to load the floppy's at the end of install. I am missing the info/data off the 3 1/2 floppy's
