Hello,

I don't use the sorter unit therefore I would like to phisically disconnect it.

Is there any way to do that?

Thank you in advance!

Which sorter does your dLab have? There were 3 versions (starter, allrounder, and netlab).

It should work fine to just unplug the motors (with the sorter from the dLab1 allrounder with 2 conveyor belts these are located under the mirrored metal panel at the back of the sorter).

You could also physically remove the entire sorter unit-- it's not too hard to get the whole thing off (a few large screws under the red paneling), but you might have to defeat the magnetic sensor that tells the machine if the sorter has been lifted up. You can just remove the magnet from the sorter and tape it to the sensor.

Won't it cause a problem to have the two lanes of prints stacked separately? I guess it wouldn't matter if you're making larger than 4x6 prints or if the order they come out in is unimportant.

I don't know what type of sorter is, I am just trying to help a friend with this lab. However, the sorter is the one like in the attached picture.

My friend asked me to find a way to physically disconnect it because it gives errors (the second picture). Also he don't use it.

Thank you for your reply!

I am still getting a lot of errors, I tried to put some parameters to 0 in dlab_pa.cfg file but no luck.

Can somebody give me a working solution, please?

Thank you!

Physically disconnecting the sorter is unlikely to resolve the problem you're experiencing, but it's not terribly difficult to remove/replace it, so you could try.

Does the sorter make its typical noises when starting up? The belts should move back and forth a bit.

What other errors is it giving you?

What country are you located in?

Do you have the service manual already? It's available online.

I tried many ways to disconnect it including removing connectors from its PCB but the system gives  errors related to the missing sorter.

The main problem is that the belt is not moving back and forth, there is a creaking sound as if a lever is stuck then the following error is displayed: PP: Remove stop flap failure in the Sorter. When I click ok, the situation is repeated 3 times then another error is showing. I tried to manually move the whole mechanism and everything works fine, no stuck elements. This issue is delaying too much the machine start and is annoying.

I checked the service manual and I got no information related to this issue.

I am located in Romania.

I have attached a couple of other errors.

Any helping tips are appreciated and I want to thank you for that!
