FotoSerra Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 Hello everyone, my dell optiplex 620 for dks and im1500 is dead after an unexpected power outage; I've got a few CDs as backup from the previous owner (master os xpe dks, im1500 ghost, dks3 software, im1500 software) and I was wandering if I could manage to install into a xp machine the software, and, if affermative, how to do it with the CDs i own (tried a few times with no success). Thank you for any advice Lorenzo
Minilab service Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 What is dead - hard disk, or computer? You did hard disk image when computer worked? If hard disk is working, or you have hard disk image file then buy other Dell Optiplex GX620 and insert hard disk there. Dell Optiplex GX620 is cheap and there are many of them.
FotoSerra Posted April 22 Author Report Posted April 22 Hi, thanks for the reply! The motherboard is dead, a bunch of capacitors blow up; luckly the hard disk (and its copy) are ok. I'll try to find a new optiplex gx620 and swap the hard disk, thanks! Lorenzo
Minilab service Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 It is easy to get Dell Optiplex GX620. Now they are cheap. Look on Ebay, or similar online shop. Dell Optiplex GX620 can be tower, desktop, small, and ultra-small form factor. Look what is your computer. Make original hard disk image file. If hard disk will be broken you easy can restore it.
