Simon Pach Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Hi everyone, My Kodak Picture Kiosk G4 had a hard drive failure (WD 500GB, physical bad sectors). I cloned ~43GB with ddrescue before it died, but the Windows folder fell in the damaged zone and is unrecoverable, so the system won't boot. I have the kiosk configuration rescued (HopConfig and other data folders), but I need the OS Recovery / System image to reinstall on a new SSD. System details: Lenovo physical code: PC 40 Processor — Service Code 1844 Hardware: Lenovo ThinkCentre, Model 10AHS00000 (M93p), i5-4670, 8GB RAM BIOS: LENOVO FBKT54CUS OS: Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 64-bit Kodak model: KPM G4 Kodak Image ID: 2DC-26 64bit Console: Acorn Kodak Image Release Version: S.9 Win7SP1 Config: -SM -PP I already tried the recovery DVD I have on hand — "G4 System Software Recovery DVD, Version S.3XPeSP2, PC Model(s) Y13-Y14, PN 3J3089". It boots into PC DOS but stops with "Bad or missing IBMTPCD.SYS / Error in CONFIG.SYS line 21" on my PC40 hardware, so that XP-era image is not compatible with this machine. I need the S.9 Win7SP1 image for PC40. What I can offer in return: I have several original Kodak G4 discs and I'm happy to image and share any of them — G4 System Software Recovery DVD S.3XPeSP2 (Y13-Y14, PN 3J3089), G4 Application Software V5.2 (CD 1 & 2), G4 User Documentation V5.2 (English & Spanish), G4 Operator Training Software V5.2, G4 Designed Borders V2.0/V2.1, G4 2006 Calendars, and printer firmware/software for 605 / 6800 / 68XX / 70XX. I can also share my partial ddrescue image if useful. I'm in Argentina. Any help (or a pointer to where to source the PC40 / S.9 Win7SP1 image) would be hugely appreciated. Happy to do this by PM / pCloud links. Thanks in advance.
tehkapi Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 I'm not sure how much I could help, but my Kiosk was upgraded to a g4xl, it has kpk+ 10, but with Windows 7. I could send a backup of the whole thing and you could see how much that helps you. I have a spare computer that I can set up with my kiosk that fits the XP era. Would you be willing to share the software you have?
tehkapi Posted August 4 Report Posted August 4 I honestly did not know there was a G4XL2. I do hope someone can help them at least. Honestly, I'd love to get a G3 with the original blue software to mess around with one day.
