There’s a problem like this with the scanner. What could have caused it, and what should I do? Does anyone know?

Have you tried changing the lamp? The other day I got a similar error, it didn't say anything about the lamp, and it drove me crazy until I discovered the lamp didn't have enough power. I changed it and everything worked again.
