kodakman7 Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 Old age creeping up on a 2901. We have been having issues recently with a discolored band which appeared on daily setup and wouldnt disappear with Uniformity and consequently does the same for production output. Initially I thought it was due to the Drive Voltage PCB as the position of the band moved with a change of board. However it seems more entrenched now so i fear the beginning or failure of the MLVA. I have run the full Initialize process meticulously and the Uniformity 2,3,4,1 per the instructions a couple of times now, plus have restored both service and All Data from earlier backups all to no avail. Interestingly at one time the band all but disappeared on one paper type but was evident on the other we run. Example in pic link below. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/srktbeq7grphkupt7cqpo/Daily-Setup-2026_10062026.jpg?rlkey=uz0wbpmjhfva240wk4968ujeq&dl=0 Have put new MLVA lamp in, have cleaned the junction below the filter wheel. A similar occurrence last year was resolved by restoring a full backup. I have had one Drive Voltage board refurbed with new capacitors, but it still didnt seem as good as the board we have which goes "Sepia" after a few hours of use. I aim to get that one refurbed with new capcitors in the next couple of days. It seems the board with new capacitors produces a lightly grainy or finely mottled appearance on some pics. Any suggestions or clues on where to head with this? As a separate matter, for giggles I can a full paper setup tonight which completed satisfactorily (save for the band ) but prints appear darker than expected. What could be the cause of that? Tks Kodakman
kodak_service Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 Try to replace Drive Voltage PCB. Usually this PCB is the cause of such a problem.

Yes I am taking the board which has generally been ok- notwithstanding the color failure after a few hours- to my tech today to do the caps and see how it goes after that. Fingers crossed....
