TTLGhosty Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 Hi all, I've recently come across an FP562 where the bottom of the N3R tank is blocked by roughly 2" worth of rock solid chemistry (suspect old Mydoneg chemicals). Is there any way to clean this or break it down? N3R pump works but won't run because the tank is blocked, and unfortunately I can't drain it off either due to the blockage. I've tried to scrape out what I can using the plunger but unfortunately to no avail. Is there any way of being able to break this down at all? Thanks in advance.
Balázsovics Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 Hey! I had the same issue recently, they put a Noritsu machine to storage without draining anything and every single tank was blocked, i even broke a drain plug while trying to take everything apart, so just be careful and don't be like me. Anyway sorry for the little offtopic What i did was a combination of running room temp water and scraping on tanks that had a working drain If the drain is blocked you should pour some amount of boiling water into the N3R tank, maybe 5cm on top of the chemical residue and just repeat that 2-3 times than leave the tank with water in it to soak for a few days, 3-4 full days After that you should take every part off that tank that you can, the N3R pump and all hoses that are not glued and start poking the blocked parts with a rigid wire, after you got an opening you can move to flowing water and a stick to clear the remainder of the stuff I have not actually worked with Fuji enough to know what N3R has in it, so if you can tell me what chemical is in that i can maybe tell you what cleaning product helps with clearing it For empty tanks i would recommend just household bleach but with chemistry still left i don't want you making a gas chamber and harming yourself, so just don't use bleach while chemistry is left
pandai Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 (edited) It's the fixer replenisher. Doesn't sound like fun! Hot water and patience? Edited June 11 by pandai
Balázsovics Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 Oh it's a replenisher tank, okay in that case, take the tank out and just rinse with water, when the block starts to get smaller you can put some small rocks in to help

TTLGhosty Posted July 1 Author Report Posted July 1 Managed to clear the block by using 48C water and a thin pole to breakdown and dissolve most of the hardened chem. Flushed out and unlocked the tap and then broke down remaining salt crystals! Nothing like a sense of pride saving a machine.
Balázsovics Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Congrats! I love when people save old machines I had an FP 350 post a while back that i started, i will be posting soon because i'm going to get that machine a few hours from now, it looks to me like that was never drained and everything is still in it, so that will be fun too, you can check that out if you want. it's my first Fuji lab so will see how it goes 22 hours ago, TTLGhosty said: Managed to clear the block by using 48C water and a thin pole to breakdown and dissolve most of the hardened chem.
