Hi there,

i would like to know if we can edit these entry scan to set the format, for example 135 135XL, 645, 6X7, 6X9 and can be easier to choose the right format.

i have two group in my settings and I'am not sure what these correspond to.

(In 8X12 my 135mm have 3637X2433 resolution, not sure it's the biggest ?)

Group 1

Name Size (mm) Border Basic Magnification Print Magnification
102C 102.0 × 152.0 BL 4.53 4.53
102P 102.0 × 254.0 BL 7.52 7.52
102H 102.0 × 178.0 BL 5.30 5.30
89C 89.0 × 127.0 BL 3.96 3.96
89P 89.0 × 254.0 BL 7.52 7.52
89H 89.0 × 158.0 BL 4.71 4.71

SP3000 CCD has proportion 1.33 : 1 . CCD also has micro-movement system ( two piezoelectric actuators ) . They making CCD pixel displacement and scan frame few times. When selected arge size then have 8-scannings. Then resolution could reach 8192 x 6144. Really can't get it.

To get the biggest resolution create biggest print size with this proportion ( 305 x 405.7 ) and scan 6 x 8 frame.
To decrese looses need correctly adjust magnification and mask should match CCD as good as it is possible. To do it need special tools. They are rare and very expensive. Not all Fujifilm engineers have them.
How good is used CCD area can see on film carrier mask registration menu. When used bigger CCD area you get bigger resolution.

When you scan 4.5 x 6 , or 135H then resolution will be very low.

Thank you,

I added the red line below on my 0220 interface configuration and my 135 scan reach the 56Mb Tiff around 3600/5400 pixel and look perfect. But after restart the setting wasn't there.

If i set all this configurations below for my 120 carrier, it's possible without tool ? (i'm scared to crash something). The goal is to have a "standard and maximum size" for each format.

Thanks,

ok i find the solution:

Creating new formats (Software MS01)
A format/template must be created for each insert mask. Fujifilm also calls these formats „Print Size“
To do this, open the Maintenance Menu on the frontend PC (or the virtual machine).
Then „08 Products“ and „0802 Print Size Setup“

Restart the scanner and all size format will appears

Do not know your MS01 version. You have create print channels on server and select display them on scanner. Have enter which number on scanner should be.

You have make correct settings on server and on scanner. Do not use scanner channels from 1 to 6 and 50 - 56 . They are locked. If you change them on scanner after restart you have no your settings. Use print channels starting from 7 , register them correctly and you can use them.

Calculate frame proportions. Then create print channels which have them.  For exampl;e 6 x 9 and 135F proportion is 1 : 1.5  ( 9 / 6 = 1.5 and 36 mm / 24 mm = 1.5 ) . Then on scanned image you have whole frame. Bigger print size - bigger resolution. 304.7 x 1.5 = 457 , so width can enter 304.7 width and length 457 .

Other frame proportions :
6 x 4.5 print size proportion 1 : 1.33 ( when printed different direction )  . Print size can be 305 x 405.6 . On CCD frame proportions are much lower ( because direction can't change here ) .
6 x 6 proportion 1 : 1 . Maximal print size 305 x 305 .
6 x 7 proportion 1 : 1.17 . Maximal print size 305 x 356.9
6 x 8 proportion 1.33. Maximal print size 305 x 405.6. This frame the best uses CCD area ( because proportions matches ) .
6 x 9 and 135F proportions 1 : 1.5 . Maximal print size 304.7 x 457 .

If you enter film carrier adjustment menu , mask registration menu and press Display image then can see which CCD area used on with this mask. Software allows auto-correct position, but can't change magnification. To change magnification need special tools and can do it on other menu.

If manual carrier was used before then need to make basic settings - light sorce calibration ( using calibration mask ) , correct mask positions ( press auto-correct for each mask ) and make focus calibration ( using frame, where good see focus ) . If manual film carrier was not registered before then need register it. You will not do it yourself.Need special tools. It will be hard to find engineer, who has them.

Check your 135 frame. Standard 135F frame should be 24 mm x 36 mm .  Then proportion is 1 : 1.5 .

If image is longer then here is not 135F, but some other format. All they have 24 mm hight, but length is different.

I measured your picture on my display.

Measured picture width 70 mm
Measured picture length 110 mm
Proportions 1 : 1.57

Measured frame with  70 mm
Measured frame length 97 mm
Proportion 1 : 1.386

Something is wrong - picture is too long and frame is too short. if my mesurements are correct then picture on your film has size 24 mm x 37.68 mm , but cropping frame is 24 mm x 33.26 mm .

Check print channel and other settings. Look scanned file resolution and devide length and width pixels. Then you know proportions. If all settings are correct proportion should be 1 : 1.5  ( for standard 24 mm x 36 mm frame ) .

Scanned image proportion is correct for 135F frame. It is about 1 : 1.5 . 3637 / 2433 = 1.4949 ( 135F : 36 / 24 = 1.5 ) .

Resolution depends on selected print size, but if print size settings are correct then proportion will be similar.

Mask cropps frame a little and it is normally. You can try adjust mask position. Go to film carrier menu and open mask registration. Then press "display image" and "auto-adjustment". Position will be corrected. On this menu also can see which CCD area is unused.

ok thanks

i did mask adjustment and the auto-adjustement set X axe 0 and a Y axe 0.6

i saved, it's good setting ;)
