milana721 Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Hello. The Frontier LP7700 minilab is producing test prints of poor quality. The gray scale gradation is incorrect: there is a slight cyan cast in the light band. The platen has been reinstalled, and the paper has been reregistered. We are using LUCKY paper and LUCKY chemistry. On an identical minilab, FUJI paper prints with a yellowish tint in the tests, while LUCKY paper prints normally. What can be done to fix this? Also, please explain the Paper Temperature Correction function: how to use it and what results it should produce. We are running EZ Controller version 8.00.011. thx fro help!
alexvigor Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 (edited) Have you registered the calibration plate correctly? Have you registered paper via paper specification registration setup? Also you should provide test prints scans and it's measurements screenshots. Edited June 26 by alexvigor
milana721 Posted June 26 Author Report Posted June 26 yes. everything is done correctly. this is test prints from two deffirent lp7700, 305 fuji with blue line and 152 lucky with red line.
Minilab service Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 If installed Ez controller and QSS Printer then here is Noritsu QSS3704 F . Only with MS01 is Fujifilm LP7700 . Which profile number is selected? Which Lucky paper is here? Upload screenshot with daily setup measurement results. first need t know what you have there.
milana721 Posted June 26 Author Report Posted June 26 we make daily set up on lucky paper ,coz we mostly use it. today decided to use fuji . lucky SA-6
TECNOR Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 (edited) Paper lucky really is bad product. Balance black is bad. Try use only fuji paper. Edited June 26 by TECNOR
milana721 Posted June 26 Author Report Posted June 26 with great pleasure. but i'm not who decide it) fuji silk prints great despite we use lucky chemistry. i understand that it can be not very correct, but it works with silk paper. btw what about paper temperature correction? do you know what is it? and thanks very much for your answers.
Minilab service Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Your measured results are good. If these results mismatch with image on paper then check calibation plate. If it is oild type ( plastic ) then change it with new type ceramic plate. For first paper you selected type 1 and for other selected type 4 . That is the reason why on first paper you see Cyan stripe and on other it is Red . Noritsu software has many settings. You can adjust everything. Can adjust middle tone , black balance, white ballance, NCE , Brightness of the Edge , load profiles ( for picture, printer, montor ) . Also can add corrections on print channels, for paper magazines, on DSA settings and many other.
alexvigor Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Paper temperature correction won't help. It is there to compensate possible fluctuations during warm-up, when printer starts to print and temperature inside is rising. I personally perform this correction when there is regular(every day) and patterned big difference (more than 0.3-0.4 in any channel) between the first daily setup in the morning and the second one, made after 40-60min of intensive work.

If there is 2 paper types registered via paper specification registration setup - you should do daily setup for both. One daily setup won't affect settings for the other paper. As for the tint in brights - I think it's not the printer/setup issue. It's is the chemical / paper problem. Some people say lucky paper is not for "fast" development, even with lucky chemicals. You mentioned identical minilab - is it with same chemicals?
Minilab service Posted June 27 Report Posted June 27 At least here on paper specification menu registered 1 st type paper ( test is with Cyan stripe ) and 4 th type paper ( test with Red stripe and on measurement results see 4 ) . On QSS37 can enter 8 paper types,
