keven s Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Hi everyone, I have a Noritsu QSS-3301. Recently I had error 6107-0002 R Laser temperature out of limit. I fixed it by replacing the thermal paste on the laser. The temperature error disappeared and the machine works normally now. However, now the daily adjustment prints come out with a strong blue cast (too much blue, weak red). Yesterday (before the fix) the daily setup was normal. Today it's very blue. I already ran the Daily Setup multiple times, but the problem remains. What can I do to fix the color balance without replacing AOM? Any suggestions on laser power adjustment, channel balance, or other calibrations? Attached are photos comparing yesterday's (normal) and today's (blue) daily adjustment prints. Thanks in advance!
Minilab service Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 If I see correctly your test print is Cyan ( not Blue ) . Cyan on paper makes Red laser ligth. Your Red laser power on paper is too big. Might be Red laser head position is incorrect and wrong beam goes to output. Try disconnect Red AOM driver output and make test print after that. Test print should be Red, or should be laser synchronization error.

Check the chemistry is good by pulling some paper out of the magazine, then rewinding it back in again and make some prints, check the fogged paper is properly black. If the chemistry is good, it could be there is no or very little blue laser output. Ideally you need to see what each laser is doing with the laser test software.
keven s Posted July 3 Author Report Posted July 3 How can I tell if the lasers are working? Is there a setting in the menu that shows this?

I tested it, and the cyan still comes out.

I went to Menu → Extension → Maintenance → Engine Section (Compartimento do Motor). I tested the laser sync: R Laser → Synchronizes when I press Start, then goes back to Desync when I stop → Normal behavior. G Laser → Same as R → Normal. B Laser → Does NOT synchronize like the others. It stays desynchronized. All lasers behave the same way (sync on Start, desync on Stop), but only the B Laser fails to sync properly. This matches the strong blue/cyan cast on the daily setup prints. Any ideas what could cause only the B Laser to have sync issues? Bad B AOM driver, cable, or laser diode? Thanks!
Dave S Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 The cause can be many different things. The most common is a bad AOM driver. Swap the blue and green AOM driver and do the output test again, if the green fails this time, it will confirm the AOM driver is bad.

Troque o driver AOM azul e verde e faça o teste de saída novamente, se o green falhar desta vez, ele confirmará que o driver AOM está ruim. Can I switch the laser positions? Put the blue one in place of the red one and the red one in place of the blue one?

Update: I tested the R and G lasers, they work fine and rotate the polygon, only the blue one is showing 0 on the polygon and doesn't synchronize.
Dave S Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 39 minutes ago, keven s said: Can I switch the laser positions? Put the blue one in place of the red one and the red one in place of the blue one? You can swap the AOM driver positions (metal box with 4 connectors). You can't swap the actual laser head positions. Like I said earlier swap the green and blue AOM driver positions with each other, then do the laser output test again.
I switched and it worked, but now I'm having a problem with the magazine; it's not loading the paper.
