Hi everyone,

I run an online photo printing website and I’m looking to optimize my backend workflow. Currently, I want to develop a system that automatically triggers upon order placement. The goal is to parse each order, identify the requested print size, and move the image files into specific, pre-defined folders on the server.

I intend to use the “Hot Folder” or “Auto-print” feature of Noritsu EZ Controller so that any image landing in these designated folders is automatically queued for printing without manual intervention.

My questions are:

What is the best way to handle this file-routing logic? Should I rely on a custom Python/Node.js script or are there existing API integrations for EZ Controller?

Are there any specific “Watch Folder” configurations in EZ Controller that I should be aware of to ensure it handles high-volume incoming files without errors?

I would appreciate any insights or experiences from anyone who has integrated web-to-print systems with Noritsu hardware.

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if new versions of EZ Controller, QSS Printer, or Profile 2026 have been released yet?

Hi!

I've been thinking about the same task recently. I'm not sure about "hot folder" - i think EZcontroller doesn't have this feature.

Also I haven't found any repositories on github that contain ezcontroller or noritsu keywords, although I'm sure that large online printing companies integrated noritsu api into their workflow.

What came to my mind was the following. EZController has built-in capabilities to connect network terminal (you can read EZC Operator's Manual sec.7.3). We could use some standalone server that would work as network terminal and run some service that would parse incoming orders into EZcontroller-acceptable format. I'm not sure what that format is, but suppose that we need to parse order data into *.mrk file and place it with order images into specific folder. According to my theory EZcontroller periodically "looks" into registered terminal's folder for such files and automatically spools them. I'll do some further investigations. If you manage to find another solutions or develop this idea - please inform.

Regards!

Noritsu has HotFolder. It is optional software and can be installed on Ez controller. The latest Noritsu HotFolder is version 4 . Hotfolder manual is on manuals for Ez controller. Select Ez controller and options.

Thanks! After some further investigation I found that there is also EZ Access software that has similar functionality. Can you (or maybe someone else) share manuals from these two add-ons (later versions)?

Also, considering other options, does noritsu provide any web-based api to ezcontroller, when ezcontroller can act like http server and process incoming http requests?

Noritsu Quick Access is different software. It is basic interface to print orders.

I think manuals you have yourself.
Open folder with any newer Noritsu manuals ( QSS37 , QSS38, D1005HR, D703 )
Run Start.exe
Select EZ Controller
Press Option Manuals
Find HotFolder . Open manual which you need ( Operator's manual, Explanatory note, Installation Guide, Installation manual )
Find Noritsu Quick Access. Open manual which you need ( Operator's manual , Explanatory note, Installation manual )

No, it's another software. It's called EZ Quick Access, it has different p/n - Z890038-01

It provides similar to hotfolder "api", and positioned by noritsu as more modern analogue to hotfolder.

Hi friends,

Does anyone have a download link for EZ Controller version 8.3 or later?

Also, is EZ Quick Access available in this version?

EZ Quick Access is supported since EZ controller 7.20 , but EZ Quick Access should be installed separatelly. To have EZ Quick Access need install EZ controller ( 7.20 , or later ) and EZ Quick Access software ( optional module ) .

I have EZ controller 8.31 , but it is not enough. You need to install EZ Quick Access software.

Where can I get **EZ Quick** from?

Does anyone have it and can send it to me?

Have you managed to get this software?

If anyone can sell it, please PM me.

@mtz689 DPOF is free; you simply need to prepare the channels to match the print format. You add a channel and a file list to the MKR file using a script, then deliver it to the network terminal. I have a modified version of EZ-Controller with an API.

/printer - info about printer (ip, state printer like ez-controller, actual qount in process)

/orders - actual list of order with info about qount prints in orders, qount printed in orders

/orders/recent - order list recent like ez-controller

/orders/x/pouse

/orders/x/start

/orders/x/delete

/printer/start

/printer/stop

Hi! Can you share a manual or specification for MKR file and\or API docs?

What does it mean - modified EZctrllr? EZcontroller API docs? Can you share them also?

I have Noritsu DPOF print software, but don't have any docs to it...

So I've build a working prototype of simple order router that handles incoming online orders and routes them to EZcontroller queue.

Here are my findings.

1. You don't need HotFolder (just my opinion) - its old and unnecessary software, as long as you have EZController.

2. EZController has Network Terminal setting. When it is setup - EZController whatches configured folder for incoming orders (new folders). It only sees the new order when the folder name is preceded with "o" letter. When such order is seen EZC tries to enqueue it. The inner folder structure is straightforward - 2 folders - MISC and IMAGE. AUTPRINT.mrk must be in MISC folder. The autprint file itself must contain valid DPOF entries. There's no open official documentation regarding noritsu-specific DPOF, but you can take https://github.com/flegoff/folder-to-AUTPRINT as an example. It works.

3. The downside of this architecture is that router has very little capabilites for communicating with EZController - it can only see the folder precedence letter change from "o" to "e" in case of order is enqueued normally and "q" in case of an error. If you want to communicate - you'd have to implement direct communication layer, but you might need additional API software&and docs, that DonCorleone mentioned. I haven't managed to find or RE it from the EZC software bundle yet.

I don't know if you've seen how Kodak DP2 software works; I know that from that software, you can also send jobs to print via EZ Controller.
