NIkolaii Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Hi everyone, I'm new to the world of scanners and bought my first scanner yesterday. After driving more than 600 km to pick it up, I immediately noticed that the machine is quite noisy. Is this normal? I have experience working with servers, and it sounds like the cooling fans are running at full speed all the time. I've already checked the power supply, and the inside of the machine is spotless, so dust definitely isn't the issue. Every time I start the scanner, I get the following messages: E-4456 E-4457 W-6104 I-4313 When I checked the system logs, I noticed these messages have been present for quite some time. Is it safe to continue using the scanner, or do these error codes indicate a more serious problem? Is this something that can be fixed easily? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Minilab service Posted August 4 Report Posted August 4 E-4457 means the exhausting fan in the scanner section is abnormal. Check scanner section exhaust fan F211. Look voltage and rotation sensor level. This fan is connected to CTB23 board connector CTB12 . Pin 1 24V , pin 2 ground ( 0V ) , pin 3 output sensor level ( low when fan rotates ) . Also can check voltages on fan connector ( pin 1, 2 and 3 ) . E-4456 means the cooling fan in the scanner section is abnormal. Check fan F212. Fan connected to connector CTB12 ( pin 5, 6, 7 ) . Also can check on fan connector ( pin 1, 2 and 3 ) . W-6104 means the fan in the main control unit is abnormal. Check fan inside computer. Clean dust, check voltages and rotation sensors. If fan is bad you can replace it. Two fans are 24V . Buy the same size and volage fans. When mount look what is air movement direction. Fan should be with LOCK type sensor ( when fan rotates on sensor low level ) . Can't use fans with TACH type sensors ( when rotates on sensor are pulses ) . I-4313 is not error. Here is message, that downloading the scanner correction data. NIkolaii 1

I’m located in Holland near antwerp
Minilab service Posted August 5 Report Posted August 5 Hello. I'm from UK. It is not far from Holand, but it is not necessary to go there. I'm sure fans you can clean, test and change yourself. It is easy to do it. Just buy basic multimeter and measure voltages on fan connectors. If need I can help you online.
