QSS Green ii Setup Help

Hello . I just got a secondhand QSS Green ii unit with "everything needed to get it to run." However, when booting the secondary PC and running EZ Controller, I cannot get the printer to come "online." I was told to connect the secondary PC (running EZ Controller) to the printer via ethernet to the internal PC in the printer and that the internal computer only needed to be powered on, and not logged in or anything - to me this sounds strange, but does anyone have experience setting these units up who could help me troubleshoot where my problems are coming from?
