  1. 6-months-later update: ended up having to have the entire laser unit replaced for a refurbished one, and indeed, the banding issue is gone - thanks all again for the input, you helped me out a lot! -J
  2. Did the CMY gradient, and yep, same results (stripes in light magenta & dark yellow/cyan) - will report what options is the tech gonna give me in case this helps someone in the future too. Thanks!
  3. Thanks so much guys, am finally getting somewhere with the single laser issue - ran a basic gradient, and I consistently get stripes in darker green & lighter red + blue ONLY. High-res here: https://i.imgur.com/Vy10vNA.jpg, detail in attachment. This is something concrete I can go to the tech with, and not just "we have random stripes".
  4. Here's a better scan - note how the problem doesn't affect the upper blue stripe https://i.imgur.com/2QgnaRv.jpg
  5. We keep getting random banding even the local Noritsu support can't help us with, claiming they've never seen the issue - trying my luck here in case someone encountered the same. The stripes happen in mid-range colors (grays, skies, light skin, etc.) come in ALL directions and thickness, even photos printed back to back will have different striping. Occasionally the striping will be even curved (see scans). Sometimes the test will come out striped and the rest of the photos will come out fine, sometimes three out of four photos will be affected and we have to print till it eventually comes out right, but it's incredibly random to get rid of so we keep bleeding paper at alarming rates. Happens on all papers; incredibly often on 305mm, and very rarely on the 102. We tried just about anything, dumped the chemistry, cleaned tanks + racks, keep the laser dust-free, or had the electricity checked for instability. Hope someone can help! ~J
