  1. I have a Kodak 6800 Dye Sub Printer with about 60K prints. It's been working like a charm. Now it's not loading the paper. When I put in the paper roll, the white rollers at the entrance are always down. I'll hand feed the paper and it will start to intialize, but when it roll backs the paper it rolls out of the rollers. I've been able to get it to complete the intialization by hand feeding the leading edge further into the printer path and I get a "Ready" display after it feeds 5 - 6x8" balnks(which may be related or a different problem). When I attempt to make a print, the paper will roll back completely out of the paper path. Anybody have any suggestions before I replace the board? Thanks in advance.
  2. Does anyone have or know where I can get the software for the Nisca NS-P1 Print Scanner. I have the unit and a lot of prints I want to scan, but can't find the software. Nisca's website only has the "twain" software, which is an upgrade to be used only with the original software. I contacted Nisca directly and they said because of proprietary info, they will not provide the software for my used scanner. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Good news!!! Just before I was about to give up, We temporarily hooked up another wiring harness from the print head to the AY controller board and that solved the problem. On a whim, we reattached the original harness and the problem was gone also. Don't know what caused the original problem, because it worked fine at an event I was doing and when I got home, the double image appeared. I didn't drop the printer, it just happened. Still I'm still a little "gun shy" of this printer. It happened for no reason and maybe it will happen again during event. Still I'll use it, but have a backup unit with me just in case.
  4. My 6850 started printing a light double image down the center of the print. It is about 1/2 inch wide on a 6x8" print. The test print comes out fine, but any print from an external source produces this image. I've replaced the print head, swapped out the AY controller board, checked all of the connectors, swapped out the usb connector, printed on different PCs. No bunching up or depressions on the print ribbon It must be something having to do with processing the images from an outside source, but I have run out of ideas. Anyone experience this? Going crazy!!!!!! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  5. I'm in Southern CA and am looking for five. Thanks.
  6. Does anyone have a resource for purchasing the kodak 6800/6850 print tray and if so, how much? I don't need the kiosk type, but the tray that can be used for a stand alone printer. Thnaks.
  7. Hey, I was able to get the 6800 printing. After replacing the Paper Edge sensor, it still didn't work. My son took the controller board off of one of my parts units and the unit fired up. Fortunately, I had a parts unit. Unfortunately, I'm minus a backup controller board in case of another problem. Anyways, it's running. Thanks, evryone for your suggestions. It's great to have people out there to help. Greg
  8. Yes. After getting the Paper Jam 02, I rewind the paper and then get "Paper Jam 23". I press the paper rewind button and the paper rewinds and left at Paper Empty status. There is no paper edge damage. The paper just stops. If blown out all around the unit for a possible sensof blockage, but no luck I am on the new consumeable, CAT#1010867, and have upgrated the firmware. Before I go in and start taking apart a low milage printer, I just want to make sure I haven't missed something obvious. Thanks
  9. @ Davidlam I have posted issues that I have had, please see link: http://www.minilabhelp.com/forum/Blah.pl?m-1304558604/ @Frenchman No I have had no luck finding the Service Manual
  10. Hey Frenchman, I've checked but all I could find was the diagnostic download. So I know the problem and the potential cause, but I need more detail so I don't look in the wrong place or damage something in the process. I've got one printer with onlay 8000 prints on it. I don't want to end up using it as a parts machine. If a service manual is somewhere in one of the listings, could you give me a hint or email the information to me. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks. Greg twogsplus4@verizon.net
  11. You would think that with all of the requests for a Kodak 6800 service manual from the members, someone out there would have one to share. I know a lot of members have hit on "Frenchman" for the manual and he had supplied them with a copy. It appears by his thread that he was frustrated by the lack of appreciation by those who had received a copy and stop sending them. I don't blame him and I wouldn't dream of asking him. I am asking those who did receive a copy if they could share the wealth by emailing a copy to me and those others out there that have units that are just sitting there. We are suppose to share our thoughts, ideas and anything we can to help others with their problems. If anyone has a manual and can email me a copy, I'd really appreciate it. I've got two units that are dead and Kodak has not been any help. THANKS. greg twogsplus4@verizon.net
  12. kreja Thanks for the info, but I have the same document, unfortunately it doesn't give the location of the sensor or the connector(s).
  13. I did check with Kodak and after three emails. He told me that he didn't know and because it was not under warranty, they would exchange it for $825.00 plus shipping. That's why I'm reaching out to you guys for any suggestions. Thanks.
  14. I have a 6800 printer with 8,004 prints, that I bought used. It worked fine until I had a paper jam. When I load the paper, reinitialize, power down & back up, changed paper rolls, etc. I get the Paper Jam 02 alarm. The printer will intialize and start to feed the paper, but then will stop and the message comes up. There is no noise, no jamming or damage to the paper edge. When I press the button to rewind the paper, the message Paper jam 23 comes up. I press the rewind button again and the paper will rewind and the Paper Empty display comes up. I took the covers off and used compressed air to blow out any possible dust and have also manually fed paper through to check for any blockage. I emailed Kodak and they were no help. They basically said "They have no idea". All they wanted to do was have me buy a replacement unit for $825.00 plus shipping. Does anybody have any suggestions? With such a low print count it would be a shame to use this unit for parts. I know a service manual would help, but we all know they are almost non existent. Thanks in advance.
