  1. Hi DaveS, I took photos of those PCBs and yes LEDs 1, 2, 3 & 4 are ON all fuses on PCB1 are good , cleaned and reseated. SSR x1 and x2 visually look fine from the top, but do not know if they are failing. The connectors you referenced on PCB1 and Processor control PCB are good and have been reseated.
  2. Heater wire = resistance wire same stuff used in toasters and vape gear. probably Kanthal, maybe stainless steel (my preferred choice for vaping), or NiChrome60 or NiChrome80 Just googled it, it’s nichrome80 i buy from here: (located in California) https://temcoindustrial.com/shop/wire-cable-accessories/resistance-wire
  3. IIRC, in the film loading bay, on the right side where the leader card is inserted, there is a demarcation “line”, I think orange(?). The top of the leader card has to be inserted, at or below the line. Otherwise, tape 2 or 1.5 leader cards together to make 1 really long leader card.!
  4. Hi DaveS, yes, all the LEDs you asked about are on. couple days ago, machine was making all the “right” noises, today, after about 5-7 minutes, the (I think) dryer motor turned off, so it “sounded different” today. About a minute after the change in sound from the Noritsu, I just turned it off at the breaker.
  5. Thank you @davidlam, if I remember correctly, both boards in the back looked good, but will check voltages tomorrow.
  6. Hello All ! Todays problem is All of the working tanks are not heating up even after 2 hours of warm up time. Working tank temperatures did not rise. All fuses on J390456 are ok (F1-F11 and FL1-FL4) all SSRs look good, None are dark or burnt or damaged. PCB J390564 is the same. Everything looks fine. No error messages were displayed. What could it be ? thank you !
  7. @kodakman7, did you get this resolved ? what was the solution ? we replaced our drive voltage pcb last November/December, but on recent power up, it was giving us similar issues on the daily setup as we had before, where it was going yellow, and correction values were VERY out of range.
  8. Hello all, When you perform a system upgrade from floppy(or HED’s) it updates the ArcNet card, but is there any other component in the machine that also gets an ArcNet update ? And does anyone have a spare 2901 compatible ArcNet card ?? We might be needing one !! Message me please Thanks ! DavE
  9. Hi Dave S, Thank You ! That seems to have done the trick. With the jumper everything started up just fine, no error messages. Removed the jumper, and it started up just fine, also with no error messages. What’s next ? Just leave it alone ? Or is there something else we need to do ? I’m officially confused as to WHY this happened though. Thank you again!
  10. Thanks DaveS, That did it. It now stays on longer than 5 seconds ! I let it run for 2 minutes and then flipped the breaker off. Do I leave the jumper in place, them close up the machine and use as before ? Or this was a test to further diagnose the problem ? What’s next ? Thank You Very Much !!
  11. Ok, turned on all the breakers, and the same problem persists (somehow hoping it would just go away!), and both green LEDs were on. Multimeter tells me the 5v was good at 4.96v, and 23.9v on both sets of the 24v side. The relay click seems to be coming from the Power PCB 1, it clicks once and the fans and motors start up but there is ONE red LED lit in the top left corner, then after 1-4 seconds (it varies) it clicks again, and all fans and motors turn off, and all LEDs on it turn dark, but the Processor Power Supply PCB and the Processor Control PCB have green lights (2 and 3 respectively). So either there’s a short somewhere, or a bad relay on Power PCB 1, or a bad Power PCB 1 ? What should we check next ? Thank you !
  12. Will do, but currently don’t have access to my service manuals. Can you supply me a location for this PCB? thank you
  13. Hey all, We’re having a problem starting up our Noritsu! Our 2901 “wants to turn on” but loses power after 1 or 2 seconds “on”. We have to turn off the breaker, wait 5-10 seconds, then try to power up again but always with same symptoms. We can hold the green sorter button to turn it on, we then hear the motors and fans starting up, then after 1 to 2 seconds the power just goes off. Doesn’t even have time to start up the computer , much less an error message. Any help would be appreciated! Dave
  14. Hi Dave S ! Merry Christmas, happy new year and all the other cheery stuff that happy people say to other happy people..... Finally got it nailed down, identified, replaced, and everything is BETTER than before. Past month or so, our daily setups have been ALL over the place. Made me think it wasn't saving the previous day's values so that it was starting from scratch EVERY day. Would take 3-7 daily setups to get to "ok" values close to +/- 0.0.... the initial daily setups had correction values of up to +20, then -19, the +16, until it got back to 0.... if you add up all those numbers it's pretty much back at 0 where it started from, but it looks "normal", not white like the first print. It started much lower, but the # of daily setups remained fairly constant at 3 to 5 times every day, just the initial correction values kept creeping up every day. One day, we had to do an emulsion # change on the 6" matte, and it was bad. After the 3rd fail, the top 3 or 4 lines were a bright yellow. Didn't want to continue, so cancelled out, tried printing something, it came out mostly brown with a couple of black spots and looked like doo-doo. So, started looking for answers, to "yellow prints", and found these: Immediately changed out the Drive Voltage PCB, and the magenta cast we've had on our daily setups (that we've asked everybody how can we "fix" it) is gone ! As is the Yellow "splotches" in greys that we've had here. Every thing seems to be back to normal (its been a week now). Just thought you would like to know how we got rid of it. Have a great holidays, enjoy your time off (if you get any!) and be well ! Big Dave
  15. I wonder... if someone DID have it (or any of the other crop charts for other machines), would making a 1:1 scan of it and printing it out on a 3D printer be possible for it to "work" ?? I'm sure there's lots of people that would like one for their machines (hint, hint Yustas & Minilabhelp) Even if it's only good for 1 or 2 uses, it may be worth it for the lab owner to have it.... Or post the 3D drawings on-line for download and "easy" local printing/manufacture.
  16. Do not buy anything using Kodak SM replenishment - chems no longer available
  17. I know very, very little about the Fuji systems, but does your current on-line system support the Fuji ecosystem natively ? Or did you have someone make your on-line system ? In which case they could integrate it. I remember talking to them at a convention, and there was an add-on you could buy to have your system create orders for the Fuji system (I think like hotfolders) and their system would suck in your orders and print them or wait for you to manually print them -- I have No Idea what it's called, but it was possible to be done. Good Luck, and keep us posted on your progress. I know for our Noritsu, we can do that, but I don't like the auto-PJP corrections, but last I played with that was years ago.
  18. Yup, that's when I sit there and scrub, and scrub, and scrub, and scrub...... Off topic, but of interest to me, for our 2901, on the dryer, top, paper exit path, there are these amber rollers with flappy teeth that we NEED to replace (the teeth are brittle and will break off if you touch them). Since Noritsu isn't supporting this machine, is there a part from another machine (with parts still readily available) that could be used to replace them ? Or is there another "thingamajiggy" that can be used to replace them ?
  19. I don't think that this isn't recommended... Or did I get this wrong ? We just use a damp, lint free cloth, and scrub any paper residue off the rollers. What about those "rubber rejuvenator" chems that press people use ? We received a small bottle of it and have been itching to try it on the Noritsu rollers, but we don't want to mess up the paper magazine rollers ! What do you guys think ?
  20. Ok, thank you for this advice. We will wait and see if this happens more often and replace at that time. Have a great week.
  21. Hi Kodak_Service, Thank you for this information. With the problem we had the other day, are there other warning signs of impending failure, or was this just a one-time glitch, or do you recommend we replace that board NOW ? Yustas, Thank you for the information. It is very helpful. Thank you Minilab service. Did you receive my PM from the other day ?
  22. Which PSU ? Do you have description or Part # ? Yesterday, after Breaker Off/On, it was just fine for ~ 200 prints. Today, Daily Setup went normal, and prints are OK. I forgot to check the condition of the Color Wheel after power off last night, but will try to check tonight after closing. Thank you all for your assistance so far, but I am really interested in finding the "source" of this problem, and trying to replace the "right" PCB so it doesn't happen again. Any Additional Help / Suggestions Appreciated !!
  23. Hi Yustas, We did replace the MLVA PSU last year(?) with a spare. I am truly afraid to test with a multi-meter when the machine is powered on. I am a little bit clumsy at times, and have killed other electronics trying to do this.
  24. Ok guys, Last resort - I shutdown and turned OFF the power at the breaker for 5 minutes. Turned it back on, went straight to daily setup, and BAM !!! It PRINTED the daily setup ! - no uniformity issues, but a little bit more Magenta than normal. no biggie. - we are going to assume it's "OK" for now, - BUT we would Really Like to Know what may have caused this, so we can be ready if it happens again, OR replace what may have caused it - before it happens again. THANK YOU !
